Donation Presentation to Brightshores, Owen Sound Oncology Department

Bernie’s Boat was thrilled to present the Oncology Department of Brightshores Health System Owen Sound with a donation of $5000. These funds will be used to support breast cancer survivors at Brightshores, Owen Sound. On hand to accept the donation from several representatives of Bernie’s Boat were many members of the Oncology Team at Brightshores including Drs Aboo, Sandhu and Thomson, along with Nurse Practitioners Jenna Sutcliffe and Katherine Nunes, as well as Crystal Hall, Coordinator of the Cancer Centre, and many of the chemo team nurses! Additionally, Amy McKinnon, CEO, and Tarlayn Golbeck, Associate, of Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation were present as were Brent Oldham, Manager of the Cancer Centre, and Colleen Ouwendyk, Director of Cancer Care at Brightshores Health System. Bernie’s Boat also gifted the Chemo Suite with a large, framed poster, commemorating Bernie’s Boat Initial Launch and Flower Ceremony on June 18, 2025, and honoured breast cancer awareness month by gifting breast cancer lapel pins to all those present.
