Our First Festival: Racing at Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat

Our first venture into the festival world of dragon boating took place on September 13, 2025. 27 members of Bernie’s Boat participated in the Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival. It was a fun day of competition and camaraderie, and an incredible display of GUTS!! We participated in three- 500m races as well as the always powerful flower ceremony~ one which recognizes not only breast cancer survivors but those who have succumbed to the disease as well. By the end of the day, we were pooched but already dreaming of our next festival in 2026.
